In 10 years, there will be no more Israel: Kissinger

The idea of Israel’s inexorable collapse is no longer a taboo as more top brass US officials are explicitly attesting to the fact, with prominent US diplomat Henry Kissinger saying, “In 10 years, there will be no more Israel.” “Kissinger's statement is flat and unqualified. He is not saying that Israel is in danger, but could be saved if we just gave it additional trillions of dollars and smashed enough of its enemies with our military.… He is not offering a way out. He is simply stating a fact: In 2022, Israel will no longer exist,” political columnist Kevin Barrett wrote in an article published on Press TV website on Sunday. He also pointed to a study commissioned by the US Intelligence Community (IC), comprised of 16 US intelligence agencies, earlier this year, titled “Preparing for a Post-Israel Middle East,” and pointed out that the content of the IC’s report corroborates Kissinger's contention. “The sixteen US intelligence agencies agree that Israel cannot withstand the coming pro-Palestinian juggernaut consisting of the Arab Spring, the Islamic Awakening, and the rise of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” the analyst added. The IC report contends that the US government no longer has the military and financial resources “to continue propping up Israel against the wishes of more than a billion of its neighbors” and suggests that “the US will have to follow its own national interests and pull the plug on Israel,” Barrett said. Considering the fact that the Jewish Kissinger has long been viewed as an ardent friend of Israel and that the majority of US officials, including the authors of the IC report, are influenced by pro-Israeli lobby, the emerging messages become more remarkable, the article added. The article argues that the emerging “complacency” among the US officials about Israel’s fate can be traced in the following reasons: · American politicians and political activists “are growing fed-up with Israeli intransigence and fanaticism.” · Americans feel “festering resentment over the Israel lobby's imperious domination of public discourse.” · “The American Jewish community is no longer united in support of Israel.” · It is becoming a common knowledge that Israel and its supporters carried out the 9/11 false-flag attacks. “In fact, the US is going broke and sacrificing thousands of lives in wars for Israel - wars that damage, rather than aid, US strategic interests,” the article said. “It will become ever-easier for American policymakers, following in the footsteps of Kissinger and the sixteen intelligence agencies, to recognize the obvious: Israel has reached the end of its shelf-life,” Barrett concluded.

Breaking News:President Mahmud Ahmadinejad’s Speech at the U.N. General Assembly

FULL TRANSCRIPT, ENGLISH TRANSLATION THROUGH TRANSLATOR: “In the name of God, the compassionate, All praise belong to Allah, the lord of the world, and may peace and blessings be upon the greatest and trustworthy prophet and his progeny. He has chosen companions and upon all the devine messengers. (inaudible) God hastens the emergence of your chosen beloved, grant him good health and victory, make us his best companions and all those who attest to his rightfulness. Mr. President, Excellencies, ladies and gentlemen, I thank the almighty God for having once more the chance to participate in this meeting. We have gathered here to ponder and work together for building a better life for the entire human community and for our nations. Coming from Iran, the land of glory and beauty, the land of knowledge, culture, wisdom and morality, the cradle of philosophy and mysticism, the land of compassion and light, the land of scientists, scholars, philosophers, masters of literature and writers, the land of (inaudible), Ferdosi (ph), Haffez (ph), Mulana (ph), (inaudible), Hayyam (ph) and Shariyar (ph). I represent a great and proud nation that is the founder of human civilization and an inheritor of respected universal values. I represent a conscious nation which is dedicated to the cause of freedom, peace and compassion; a nation that has experienced the agony and bitter times of the aggressions and imposed wars, and profoundly values the blessings of peace and stability. I am now here for the eighth time in the eighth year of my service to my noble people; in this august assembly of peoples and brothers from across the world, to show to the world that my noble nation, like its brilliant past, has a global vision and welcomes any effort intended to provide and promote peace and stability and tranquility which can only be realized through harmony, cooperation and joint management of the world. I am here to voice the divine and humanitarian message of learned men and women of my country, to you and to the whole world, a message that Iran’s great orator and poet Saadi, presented to humanity in his eternal (inaudible) poetry. Human beings are members of a whole in creation of one essence and soul. If one member is afflicted with pain, other members uneasily remain. I have talked in the past 7 years about the current challenges, solutions and prospects of the future world. And today, I want to raise and discuss such issues from a different perspective. Thousands of years have passed since children of Adam, peace be upon him, started to settle down in various parts of Earth. Peoples of different colors, inclinations, languages, customs and traditions to fulfill their aspirations to build a noble society for a most beautiful life blessed with lasting peace, security and happiness. Despite all efforts made by righteous people and justice-seekers and the sufferings and pains endured by masses of people in the quest to achieve happiness and victory, the history of mankind, except in rare cases, is marked with unfulfilled dreams and failures. Imagine for a moment had there been no egoism, distrust, malicious behavior and dictatorships, with no one violating the rights of others, had humanitarian values been viewed as the criterion for social dignity in place of affluence and consumerism; had humanity not experienced the dark age of medieval period and centers of powers not hindered the flourishing of knowledge and constructive thoughts; had the wars of crusades ensuing period of slavery and colonialism not happened; and had the inheritors of these dark periods followed a course on the premises of humanitarian principles; had the First and Second World Wars in Europe, the wars in Korea, Vietnam, Africa, Latin America and in the Balkans not happened; and if instead of the occupation of Palestine and imposition of a fake government, displacement and genocide of millions of people around the globe. The truth beyond these walls has been revealed based on justice. Had Saddam Hussein not invaded Iran, and had the Bechpan (ph) supported the Risalt (ph), Iranian people instead of siding with Saddam. If the tragic incident of September 11, and the military actions against Afghanistan and Iraq that left millions killed and homeless had not happened, and if instead of killing and throwing the culprit into the sea without trial or without informing the world and the people of America. An independent fact finding team had been informed to make the general public aware of the truth behind the incident, and to prepare for bring him to justice the perpetrators has extremism or terrorism not been used to secure political goals; had the awes (ph) had been heard in (inaudible) and military expenditures been used to promote well being and enmity among nations; had the drum of ethnic, religious, or racial conflict, not been beaten. And if differences had not been used for the purpose of advancing political agendas had the right to criticize the hegemonic policies and actions of the world Zionism been recognized to allow the world media to freely report and shed light on realities instead of taking deceitful gestures of backing freedom bent on offending the sanctities and now (ph) sacred beliefs of human beings and divine messengers who as the purest and most compassionate human beings are the gift of the Almighty to humanity. Had the security council, nothing under the domination or the limited number of government does disabling the United Nations to carry out its responsibilities on a just and equitable basis. If the international economic institution has not yet under pressure and been allowed to perform the duties and functions by using their expertise based on fairness and justice; had the world’s capitalists not weakened or victimized the economies of nations in order to make up for their own mistakes. If integrity and honesty have not prevailed on the international relations and all nations and government were treated equally and justly in the global effort to build and expand happiness for the entire mankind, and if there’s a — other unfavorable situation had not occurred in human life. Imagine how beautiful and pleasant our lives and how lovely the history of mankind would have been. Let us take a look at the world’s situation today. A, the economic situation. Poverty is on the rise and the gap is widening between the rich and the poor. Total for in debt of $18 million industrial countries has exceeded $63 million whilst the repayment of half of this amount is sufficient to eradicate poverty in the world. The economy is dependent on consumerism and exploitation of people only serve the interest of the limited number of countries. Creation of worthless paper assets by using influence and control over the world’s economic centers constitutes the greatest abuse of history and is considered a major contributor to global economic crisis. It has been reported that only 33 (inaudible) were printed by one government alone. Development planning, based on a capitalist economy that runs in a vicious circle triggers unhealthy and devastating competitions and it is a fatal practice. B, the cultural situation. From the standpoint of the politicians who control the world power centers, concepts such as moral principles, purity, honesty, integrity, compassion and self- sacrifice are rejected as defunct and outdated notions and an impediment to the accomplishment of their goals. They openly talk about their disbelief in the relevance of ethics to the political and social affairs. Pure and indigenous cultures as the product of centuries-old efforts of nations, the common denominator reflecting human profound feeling and love toward beauty and the force which breeds diversity, cultural vividness and social dynamism are under constant attacks and susceptibleto extinction. A specific lifestyle devoid of individual social identity has been imposed on nations by organized and systematic disruption and humiliation of identities. Family, as the noblest institution of societies and a center emanating love and humanity, has been seriously weakened, and it’s destructive role is under decline. Women’s sublime role and personality as a heavenly being, a manifestation of the divine image and beauty and the main pillar of every society has been damaged and abused by the powerful and the wealthy. The human soul has become frustrated and the essence of humankind humiliated and suppressed. C, political and security situation. Unilateralism, application of double standards, and imposition of wars, instability and occupation to ensure economic interests and expand dominance over sensitive centers of the world have served to be the order of the day. Arms race and intimidation by nuclear weapons and weapons of mass destruction by the hegemonic powers have become prevalent. Testing new generations of ultra modern weaponry and the pledge to disclose these armaments in due time is now being used as new language of threats against nations to coerce them into accepting a new era of hegemony. Continued threats by the uncivilized Zionists to resort to a military action against our great nation is a clear example of this bitter reality. A state of mistrust has cast its shadow on the international relations whilst there is no trust that – or just authority to help resolve world conflicts. No one feels secure or safe, even those who have a stockpile, thousands of atomic bombs and other arms in their arsenals. D, the environmental situation. The environment, as a commonwealth and heritage of the entire humankind and a constant guarantor of man’s survival, has been seriously damaged and devastated as a result of irresponsible and excessive use of resources, particularly by capitalists across the world, a situation that has caused massive drought, flood and pollutions and inflicting irrevocable damage and jeopardizing seriously human life on Earth. Dear colleagues, despite advances in scientific knowledge and technology, the aspirations of Adam’s children have not yet been fulfilled. Does anybody believe that continuation of the current order is capable of bringing happiness for human society? Today everyone is discontent and disappointed with the current international order. Dear colleagues, human beings do not deserve to be under continual sufferings of the present situation. God of wisdom and compassion, who loves all human beings, has not ordained such a destiny for mankind. He has ordered human as the supreme creature to make the best and most beautiful life on Earth, along with justice, love and dignity. We must therefore think of a solution. Who is responsible for all these sufferings and failures? Some people try to justify that everything is normal and is a reflection of divine will, putting the blame on nations as responsible for all prevalent vices and evils. They are of the opinion that it is the nations that succumb to discrimination and tyranny, it is the nations that surrender to dictatorship and greed, it is the nations that accept the hegemony of arrogant and expansionist powers, it is the nations that are influenced by the (inaudible) of powers and most all vices in our world are the result of their passive attitudes with the inclination to live under the supremacy of the world powers. These are the arguments raised by those who tend to blame nations for the unfavorable conditions prevailing in the world with the intention to justify the attitudes and destructive behaviors of the ruling minority. These claims, supposedly authentic, cannot in any way justify continuation of the present oppressive international order. Indeed, poverty is imposed on nations and powers, ambitions and goals are pursued either through deceits or resort to force. To justify their inhuman actions, they propagate the theory based on the survival of the fittest, while in principle most governments and nations of justice-seeking people are humble and submissive in the face of right and are after fostering dignity, prosperity and constructive interactions. Masses of people never want to expand their territories, nor do they seek to obtain legendary wealth. They have no disputes among themselves in principles and have never played a role in the creation of any disastrous events in the course of history. I do not believe that Muslims, Christian, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists and others have any problems among themselves or are hostile against each other. They get along together comfortably and live together in an atmosphere of peace and amity. We are all devoted to the cause of justice, purity and law. The general tendency of nations has always been to accomplish positive common aspirations reflecting exalted divine human beauties and nobilities. The current abysmal situation of the world and the bitter incidents of history are due mainly to the wrong management of the world and the self-proclaimed centers of power who have entrusted themselves to the devil. The older that is rooted in the anti-human thoughts of slavery and the old and new colonialism are responsible for part of the corruption, ignorance and oppression and discrimination in every corner of the world. The current world order has certain characteristics, some of which are as follows. It is founded on materialism, and that is why it is in no way bound to moral values. It has been shaped according to selfishness, deception, hatred and animosity. It believes in classification of human beings, humiliation of other nations, trampling upon the rights of others and the abomination. It seeks to extend its domination by spreading discord and conflicts among ethnic groups and nations. It aims to monopolize power, wealth, science and technology for a limited group. Policies of the world’s main centers of power are based on the principle of domination and the conquering of others. These centers only seek supremacy and are not in favor of peace and definitely not at the service of the nations. Are we to believe that those who would spend hundreds of millions of dollars on election campaigns have the interests of the people of the world at their hearts? Despite what big political parties claim in the capitalist countries, the money that goes into election campaigns is usually nothing but an investment. In such countries, people have to vote for parties that only represent a small number of people. The will and views of the masses have the least impact and influence on the big decisions, especially those made about the major domestic and foreign policies in United States and in Europe. Their voices are not heard, even if they constitute 99 percent of the societies. Human and ethical values are sacrificed in order to win votes and willingness to listen to the demands of the people has become only a tool at a time of election. The current world order is discriminatory and based on injustice. Distinguished friends and colleagues, what should be done and what is the way out of the current situation? There is no doubt that the world is in need of a new order and a fresh way of thinking, an order in which man is recognized as God’s supreme creature, enjoying material and spiritual qualities and possessing a pure and divine nature filled with a desire to seek justice and truth; an order that aims to revive human dignity and believes in universal happiness and perfection. Three, an order which is, after peace, lasting security, and welfare for all walks of life around the globe. Four, an order that is founded upon trust and kindness and brings forth hearts and hands closer to each others. Rulers must love people. Five, a just and fair order in which everybody is equal before law and in which there is no double standard . Leaders of the world must regard themselves as committed servants of the people, not their superiors. Seven, authority is a sacred gift from people to their rulers, not a chance to amass power and wealth. Mr. President, ladies and gentlemen, is it possible to have such an order without having everybody’s contribution to the way the world is run? It is abundantly evident that when all the people and government start to think and commit themselves to the above mentioned principles and become sensitive to the internationally important issues and participate in decision makings, their wishes will find a chance to be materialized. By raising collective awareness, the seeking of a joint global management becomes more vivid, with the chances of its implementation increased. Today is the day of nations, and their wants will determine the future of the world. Therefore, together we need to place our trust in God Almighty and stand against the inquisitive minority with all our might so that they become isolated and can no longer decide the destiny of other nations. Two, believe in the God’s bounty of blessing and mercy, and seek it in the integration and unity of human societies. Governments emerging from the free will of nations must believe in their own ceaseless capabilities and know that they can achieve victory if they vigorously fight the unjust order and defend human rights. Three, pave the ground for the joint global management by insisting upon justice in all its aspects, strengthen, unity, friendship, and expand economic social, cultural and political interactions in a dependent, specialized organizations. Four, care about the interests of all the people of the world and join hands to reform the current disruptions of the United Nations with our joint efforts and coordination. It is necessary to know that the United Nations belongs to all nations. Thus, the existence of discrimination amongst the member is a great insult to all. The existence of discrimination and monopoly in the United Nations is in no way acceptable. Five, have more coordinated efforts to generate and propagate and firmly establish the language needed for designing the required structures of the joint global management field, because justice, love, freedom and amity. Participation in global management is the basis of lasting peace, the non-align movement as the second largest trans-regional group after the United Nations held its 16th (ph) summit in Tehran with the motto of joint global management cognizant of the importance of this issue and the shortcomings of the current mismanagements in the emergence of crises and problems afflicting the world today. During the summit, participating heads of state and representatives of more than 120 countries underscored the necessity of more serious and effective participation of all nations in the global management. Fortunately, we are now at a historic juncture. On one hand, Marxism is no longer around, and is particularly eliminated from the management systems. And on the other, capitalism is bogged down in a self-made quagmire and it has indeed reached a deadlock and does not seem to be able to come up with any noteworthy solution to the various economic, political, security and cultural problems of the world. Non-Aligned Movement is proud to once again emphasize the rightfulness of its historic decision to reject the poles of power and the unbridled hegemony ruling the world. On behalf of the members of the Non-Aligned Movement, I would like to invite all countries of the world to play a more active role in making it possible for everybody to contribute to the global decision making processes in the world. The need to remove the structural barriers and encourage the process of universal participation in global management has never been greater before. The United Nations lacks the efficiency to bring about the required changes. If this inefficiency persists, nations will lose hope in the global structures to defend their right. If the United Nations is restructured, international interactions and a spirit of collective global cooperation will be tarnished and the standing of the United Nations will be damaged. The United Nations has been created with the purpose of expanding justice and reinstitution of the universal rights has in practice been engulfed by discrimination, preparing a supportive ground for the domination of a few powerful countries. Consequently, U.N.’s inefficiency has been on the rise. Moreover, the existent (ph) of the veto right and monopolization of power in the Security Council have made it nearly impossible to defend the rights of the nations. The issue of the U.N. restructuring is very vital and is a need that has been emphasized time and again by the representatives of nations, a goal that has not yet been accomplished. I would like to urge the honorable members of the United Nations and his excellency the secretary general and his colleagues to place this issue high on their agendas and devise and appropriate mechanism to make it happen. Non-Aligned Movement stands ready to aid the United Nations in this essential endeavor. Mr. President, friends and dear colleagues, creating peace and lasting security with decent life for all, although a great and historic mission, can be accomplished. The almighty God has not left us alone in this mission and has said that it will surely happen. If it doesn’t happen, then it will be contradictory to his wisdom. God has promised us a man of kindness, a man who loves people and loves absolute justice, a man who is a perfect human being and is named (inaudible), a man who will come in the company of Jesus Christ and the righteous. By using the inherent potential of all the worthy men and women of all nations — and I repeat, the inherent potential of all the worthy men and women of all nations, he will lead humanity into achieving its glorious and eternal ideals. The arrival of the ultimate savior will mark a new beginning, a rebirth and a resurrection. It will be the beginning of peace, lasting security and genuine life. His arrival will be the end of oppression, immorality, poverty, discrimination and the beginning of justice, love and empathy. He will come and he will cut through ignorance, superstition, prejudice by opening the gates of science and knowledge. He will establish a world (inaudible) of prudence and he will prepare the ground for the collective active and constructive participation of all in the global management. He will come to grant kindness, hope, freedom and dignity to all humanity as a gift. He will come so mankind will taste the pleasure of being human and being in the company of other humans. He will come so that hands will be joined, hearts will be filled with love, and thoughts will be purified to be at the service of security, welfare, happiness, well being, and peace for all. He will come to return all children of Adam, irrespective of their skin colors, to their innate origin after a long history of separation and division, linking them to eternal happiness and joy. The arrival of the ultimate savior, Jesus Christ and the righteous will bring about an eternally bright future for mankind, not by force or waging wars, but through thought, awakening and developing kindness in everyone. Their arrival will breed a new life in the cold and frozen hearts and body of the world. He will bless humanity with a spring that puts an end to our winter of ignorance, poverty and war. Through the tidings of a season of blooming, he puts an end to the winter of ignorance for humanity. Now, we can see and we can sense the sweet scent and the soulful breeze of the spring — a spring that has just begun and doesn’t belong to a specific race, ethnicity, nation, or region; a spring that will soon reach all the territories in Asia, Europe, Africa and America. He will be the spring of all, the justice-seekers, freedom- lovers and the followers of heavenly prophets. He will be the spring of humanity and the greenery of all ages. Let us join hands and clear the way for his eventual arrival with empathy and cooperation, in harmony and unity. Let us march on this path to salvation for the thirsty souls of humanity to taste immortal joy and grace. Long live this spring. Long live this spring. And again and again, long live this spring.” (APPLAUSE)

Iran welcomes military threats by Tel Aviv to end Israel’s life

If Israeli military threats against Iran take place the “best opportunity will be provided for the disappearance of this fake regime from the scene of the world and hurling it into the dustbin of history,” an Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) commander warned on Saturday. Amir Ali Hajizadeh, the aerospace commander of the IRGC, said Iran “welcomes” such threats of military attack because it will give a “pretext” to put an end to the life of this regime “for ever and get the humanity rid of this cancerous tumor”. Hajizadeh said “the Islamic resistance and anti-Zionist front” have been waiting to “take a serious and fateful revenge of the blood of the martyrs of the oppressed Palestinians, Sabra and Shatila (massacre), Lebanon’s Qana, the nuclear martyrs of the Islamic Iran, and thousands of other martyrs.” The military commander went on to say that “the ideal of the annihilation of the Zionist regime” will be realized and “a new Middle East will be created in the region with the will of Muslim nations” in the case these military threats by Israel are put into practice. However, he said “we believe” the military threats by Israeli leaders are a “psychological warfare” as the presidential election in the United States is approaching and Iran is preparing to host Non-Aligned Movement summit. “However,” he added, “if they want to put in action their threats this would be the only positive move by this ‘baby killer’ regime in its nasty life.”

Iran Test-Fires 4th Generation of Most Precise Home-Made Missile

Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi announced on Saturday that the country has successfully test-fired the fourth generation of high-precision Fateh-110 missiles. "The fourth generation of high-precision Fateh-110 missiles with a range of over 300km was test-fired by the defense ministry's aerospace industries organization," Vahidi told reporters in Tehran today. He said that the new missiles can hit and destroy both land and sea targets, enemy concentration points, command centers, missile sites, ammunition dumps, radars and other targets with 100 percent precision. Iran successfully test-fired the third generation of Fateh-110 missiles in August 2010. The Fateh-110 is a short-range, road-mobile, solid-propellant, high-precision ballistic missile with advanced navigation and control systems. The Iranian defense ministry has made great achievements in designing and producing missiles, including the surface-to-surface solid-fuel Sejjil missiles, the long-range Shahab-3 ballistic missile which has a range of up to 2,000 km, and Zelzal and Fateh missiles. Iran has been pushing an arms development program in recent years in a bid to reach self-sufficiency. Tehran launched its arms development program during the 1980-88 Iraqi imposed war on Iran to compensate for a US weapons embargo. Since 1992, Iran has produced its own jet fighters and armored vehicles as well as radar-avoiding missiles and other high-tech weapons. Yet, Iranian officials have always stressed that the country's military and arms programs serve defensive purposes and should not be perceived as a threat to any other country

Iran's Missile Capability Growing Fast

A senior commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps said Iran's missile capability has grown so powerful that a partial knowledge of country's missile capability has discouraged Washington from attacking Iran. "Iran's missile capability has grown much in comparison with the past, and what the US knows of Iran's capability is much smaller than what it does not know," Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Navy General Ali Fadavi told reporters on the sidelines of the 18th annual meeting of the IRGCN on Saturday. He said the US economic sanctions against Iran prove that Washington and its western allies have realized that military action against Iran would be useless. "The fact that the US is using all its power for imposing oil and economic sanctions on Iran derives from the fact that they know they won't obtain any result through military options against the Islamic Republic of Iran," General Fadavi added. He said the fruitless wars conducted by the US and Israel in the last few years have discouraged both Washington and Tel Aviv from waging an offensive on Iran. "The United States and Israel have experienced bitter experiences of war in Lebanon, Afghanistan, Iraq and the like in the last few years," he said. He said the US couldn't defeat Iran in the Persian Gulf years ago when it was due to protect the Iraq-bound cargo ships during the Iraqi imposed war (1980-1988), and Washington and its allies are well aware that Iran's military capabilities have grown drastically since then. "Our 39 retaliatory operations were conducted successfully; in all these operations, the US warships (responsible for protecting the Iraq-bound cargo ships) started their voyage to reach the (Iraq-bound) ships sooner than us, but they could never prevent even a single operation of ours," the IRGC Navy commander said. Iran's naval power has even been acknowledged by foes. In a Sep. 11, 2008 report, the Washington Institute for the Near East Policy also said that in the two decades since the Iraqi imposed war on Iran, the IRGC has excelled in naval capabilities and is able to wage unique asymmetric warfare against larger naval forces. According to the report, Iran's Navy has been transformed into a highly motivated, well-equipped, and well-financed force and is effectively in control of the world's oil lifeline, the Strait of Hormuz. The study says that if Washington takes military action against the Islamic Republic, the scale of Iran's response would likely be proportional to the scale of the damage inflicted on Iranian assets. The Islamic Republic's top military officials have repeatedly warned that in case of an attack by either the US or Israel, the country would target 32 American bases in the Middle East and close the strategic Strait of Hormuz. An estimated 40 percent of the world's oil supply passes through the waterway. A recent study by a fellow at Harvard's Olin Institute for Strategic Studies, Caitlin Talmadge, warned that the IRGC Navy could use mines as well as missiles to block the strait, and that "it could take many weeks, even months, to restore the full flow of commerce, and more time still for the oil markets to be convinced that stability had returned".

Int'l Union of Unified Ummah Condemns Massacre of Myanmar Muslims

The International Union of Unified Ummah deplored the massacre of Myanmar Muslims in their country and in other parts of the region, and called on international bodies to show swift reaction to the crimes committed against them. "Bad news are heard about Muslim genocide in Myanmar," a statement by the Union said on Saturday, adding that millions of Muslims who are considered as a minority in their country have faced different problems by Myanmar's government. The statement also condemned the recent massacre of thousands of Myanmar Muslims by the followers of Buddhism in front of the police forces, and said that such crimes are committed in a situation that the country's government prevents the presence of foreign reporters and representatives of international bodies. The statement called on the Iranian foreign ministry to pressure international bodies and the so-called advocates of human rights to safeguard and save the lives of the oppressed and deprived Muslims of Myanmar. The statement came as Myanmar's President Thein Sein said that Myanmar Muslims must be expelled from the country and sent to refugee camps run by the United Nations. The former junta general said on Thursday that the "only solution" was to send nearly a million Myanmar Muslims - one of the world's most persecuted minorities - to refugee camps run by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). "We will send them away if any third country would accept them," he added. "This is what we are thinking is the solution to the issue." The UN refugee agency has snubbed the idea of setting up refugee camps to accommodate the Muslims. The UN says decades of discrimination have left the Muslims stateless, with Myanmar implementing restrictions on their movement and withholding land rights, education and public services. Over the past two years, waves of ethnic Muslims have attempted to flee by boats in the face of systematic oppression by the Myanmar government. The government of Myanmar refuses to recognize them. They say the Muslims are not native and classify them as illegal migrants, although they have lived in Myanmar for generations.

WORLD WAR 3: 100 Iranian MPs call for blocking Hormuz Strait

TEHRAN, July 2 (MNA) – The Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee has put forward a proposal to block the strategic Strait of Hormuz to prevent the passage of tankers that carry oil for the countries that have imposed sanctions on Iran, an Iranian MP announced on Sunday. Speaking to the Persian service of the Mehr News Agency, MP Ebrahim Aqa-Mohammadi said that the proposal had been signed by 100 MPs as of Sunday. The measure would be a response to the European Union’s oil embargo on Iran that took effect on July 1 and a new U.S. law that penalizes countries that do business with the Central Bank of Iran by denying their banks access to the United States market. The law came into force on June 28. The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's most strategic shipping channels. It connects the vast majority of the world's countries with the crude oil that fuels their economies. At its narrowest point, the strait is 21 miles wide, with a two-mile shipping lane on either side. On average, 14 supertankers sail through the strait every day. MP Arsalan Fat’hipour said on Sunday that if Iran is unfairly targeted, it will not allow “even one drop of oil” to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. According to the Fars News Agency, he also played down the effects of sanctions against Iran and said, “We have been sanctioned for 33 years and have faced worse conditions than this, but nothing happened.”

KADUNA CRISIS: ARMED CHRISTIAN YOUTHS KILLED 4 IN FRESH ATTACK

Four people were killed yesterday on their way to Kaduna from Abuja by yet-to-be identified armed christian youth at Kara Tudu near Gonin Gora in Chukun local government of Kaduna state. A reliable source, who doesn’t want to be named, told our correspondent that the people were travelling on motorbikes when they diverted from the highway and took a bush path. “Ten of them travelling on motorbikes took the bush path because they felt that the Gonin Gora axis of the road was not safe. It was at the bush, six met their untimely death. This is a confirmed incident because four have escaped with injuries and they are now receiving treatment,” the source said. When contacted, however, the Kaduna State Commissioner of police, Muhammad Jinjiri Abubakar, said it was four people that were killed and his prompt intervention saved one person. “The deceased took the bush path to avoid the traffic gridlock at a check point in the area, which is Kara Tudu. When the natives of the area saw them, they suspected them and killed four of them while we rescued one. Four motorbikes are missing. The deceased were travelling to their hometown when they met their death. “I am pleading with the chief of the area now to fish out the youths that murdered these people because it is the youths of the area that killed them. We hope the chief would cooperate so that justice can be done. The person that survived is helping us with information,” CP Abubakar said. The white paper on 2011 post election violence released recently by the Kaduna state government recommended extra vigilance by security personnel on Kara Tudu and Gonin Gora towns, which were identified among the flash points where innocent travelers are intercepted and hacked to death.

President Jonathan Sacks NSA Azazi, Defence Minister

President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday relieved Gen Andrew Azazi (rtd) and Dr. Haliru Bello of their jobs as National Security Adviser and Defence Minister respectively. The President has been under pressure to remove Mr Azazi a former Chief of Army and Defence Staff who recently accused the ruling PDP of being behind the radical islamic group, Boko Haram. To replace Mr. Azazi, according to presidency sources, is Mr. Sambo Dasuki, a retired armoured colonel and one time ADC of General Ibrahim Babagida.

AMERICA FORCES AND MOSSAD ASSASSINATE OVER 550 SCIENTIST AND ACADEMIC FIGURES IN IRAQ

Reports by Iraqi media revealed that Israeli secret service, Mossad, is very active in Iraq and is spying on Iran and its allies under the cover of Jordanian companies. According to a report by Iraqi Nakhel news agency, Iraqi resistance groups in separate statements have released the information and details of such undercover places and entities in different regions of Iraq, including Taji, Kirkuk and Baghdad, and announced that they have targeted these Israeli sites. Nakhel quoted a numbers of Iraqi prisoners as saying that they had been handed over to Israeli interrogators by the US troops. These prisoners said that the Israelis asked them questions about popularity of the Lebanese Hezbollah, Palestinian Hamas Islamic Resistance groups and the role of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) in the region. Nakhel further quoted a report by Israeli daily Ma'ariv as saying that Israelis are active in Iraq under the guise of Jordanian companies, the most prominent figure among them is Israel's intelligence minister in Ehud Barak's cabinet, who runs Barak's company. "Most of the Israeli companies are active under the cover of Jordanian companies and are using Jordanian currency for their transactions," Nakhel quoted an official in the information office of Barak's company as saying. In relevant remarks in May, former Iraqi National Security Advisor Moafaq al-Rubaie said that the Israeli spy agency has infiltrated its agents into Iraq under different guises and assassinated the country's elites. Rubaie further unveiled that Israeli spy agents, disguised as US soldiers and members of civil society organizations, have infiltrated into Iraq in a bid to carry out such terrorist moves. Media reports revealed in November, 2011 that US Department of Defense (Pentagon) and US forces in Iraq have collaborated with Mossad to assassinate over 550 scientists and academic figures since the occupation of Iraq in April 2003. "Mossad in collaboration with American forces in Iraq killed 350 Iraqi nuclear scientists and 200 university professors in Iraq from 2003 to 2008," Jordanian daily International Reality said quoting a special security report prepared by US State Department in 2008 and delivered to President George W. Bush at the time. "Israeli commandos had been operating on Iraqi territory since the occupation of Iraq, the focus of their activities being the assassination of Iraqi scientists and intellectuals. The Zionists resorted to the large-scale assassination campaign after the failure of American efforts that started immediately after the American occupation of Iraq, aimed at attracting a number of Iraqi scientists to cooperate and go to work in the United States," the report said. "Some Iraqi scientists were forced to work in American research centers; however, the majority of them refused to cooperate in certain fields and fled the US to other countries," the report noted.

Nigeria: Targeted for destruction For those who have ears to hear

By GORDON DUFF I won’t write about Nigeria as a journalist. I am known in Nigeria as a national security specialist with decades of experience there. I have close personal friends at the highest levels of government and only write these few words out of deep concern. For those reading the news about Africa, both of you, Nigeria is under terrorist attack and preparing military operations against a group called Boko Haram, an Islamic group from the North, more accurately centred in Niger, a nation to the north, a cesspool of international intrigue. The group is real but in its current formation, it is the construct of outside powers who plan to Balkanize Nigeria. Nigeria is, in itself, a construct that never should have existed. The North is Muslim, the South is Christian, each side having nearly 100 million people and neither half are united in any way. The history after colonial occupation is one of military dictatorship and corruption at levels unimaginable. Nigeria is Africa, the most populace country, the most oil and gas wealth, the greatest economic potential, the biggest potential market. Thus, Nigeria is a target. Those in power know I laid out their fate. I told them when the bombings would start, what type, I was even right about the first target, exactly right. I figured what I would do and it happened. I figured what I would do if I were the head of a foreign intelligence agency planning to take over security operations for the government by making the new president appear vulnerable, powerless and then exploiting divisions in the country in order to start two decades of extremely powerful war. In the process, side can be played against side, crooked politicians can keep the decision making apparatus paralyzed and the country can be turned into a terrorist battleground, leading to the long awaited civil war while being bled dry. I laid the whole thing out. Two foreign governments are involved, I named them. I told my friends that Abuja would soon look like Islamabad, cameras, checkpoints, troops, that was the first part of the destabilization plan. This is being done as we speak. Real nation building is not in the cards, only rape and destruction, debt and more debt. I saw it done, more carefully, to the United States. It isn’t the same crew, not entirely, but many of the same actors are involved. First they began by blocking the new president from assuming real power, buying off key political and military leaders. Then a phony terror campaign was begun, like the one the US saw with 9/11. Then “they” arrived with solutions. At the same time, “they,” who have been working with the terror groups for years, are building an “Al Qaeda” type organization that will be able to dart across borders and carefully orchestrate a pattern of destabilization using the same contractors that are going to be paid millions to help put in place security apparatus to protect the country. This happened in America, in a way at least. It is a plan long in motion. Nigerians are ripe for civil war, angry, divided, fed up with abuse. I love the damned country, my friends there which include those who theoretically rule the country, if such a thing were possible. It is not. What I did do is lay out a plan for the first hundred days that would have prevented this. In order to accomplish this, one would have to overcome a corrupt government, meaning that one would have to assume near dictatorial powers and turn to the people, all the people, for support. One would have to deliver on promises of electrical power, police reform, refinancing debt, so many things. There were two choices, one was to build a nation and the other was to react and become the victim of a plot long stewing in two capitols far away. The desire for a civil war, something so many want in Nigeria, have waited for, has allowed them, the government, the people, to become what they fear most, slaves in their own nation. Nigeria isn’t Libya. It has a population 15 times that of Libya. Nigeria is Africa. Saving Nigeria was vital to world stability, something only a select few know. Destroying Nigeria was vital to world entropy, something only a select few know also. As we speak, plane-loads of bomb detection equipment is coming in from the same people who built the car bombs in the first place. War is being planned with the help of those who organized and armed the enemy. Enough people were there who remember it all being laid out, how it would be done. Predicting this didn’t take genius, not hardly. I had seen it all before, so many times. The plots spoken of as against Libya are very real but Egypt and Nigeria are the primary targets, taking the place of Iran, a nation that has been more resourceful than expected. Were it taught, which it is not, we would call it history. This article, culled from Dark Politricks of November 14, 2011, was originally published in Veterans Today, a US journal, where Duff works as senior editor.

Former president Hosni Mubarak "clinically dead"

Egypt's ousted presdent Hosni Mubarak was declared clinically dead after he was transferred to hospital from prison on Tuesday, state media reported, after his heart stopped beating. “Hosni Mubarak is clinically dead,” the official MENA news agency reported. “Medical sources told MENA his heart had stopped beating and did not respond to defibrillation.” Mubarak, 84, has suffered serious health problems since he was deposed in February last year. He had been in the medical wing of the Torah civilian prison since being sentenced on June 2 to life imprisonment for his role in the deaths of protesters. Mubarak’s health was the subject of widespread speculation for much of the latter part of his 30-year rule. During his trial, he was wheeled into court on a hospital stretcher for each hearing, though it was unclear what he was suffering from. His medical condition deteriorated after the verdict and he suffered an emotional breakdown after being moved to an intensive care wing in Cairo’s Tora prison. Doctors treated him with a defibrillator twice on June 11, according to a prison hospital source. He has suffered from acute depression since his transfer, as well as periodic increases in blood pressure and shortness of breath, interior ministry officials said. Mubarak’s wife Suzanne and his two daughters-in-law were given special permission to visit him following rumors that he had died in prison. His family has formally requested a transfer to a Cairo hospital but such a move could unleash the anger of activists and protesters.

JOS CRISIS: CUSTOM COMPTROLLER ARRESTED OVER ARMS DEAL

A Comptroller of Customs was arrested on Tuesday in Abuja for allegedly buying ammunitions over time from Niger State Police command. Mr. Jack Bot was arrested by men of the State Security Service (SSS) at the customs head office Wuse, Abuja, according to BBC Hausa service report monitored in Abuja yesterday. The SSS also arrested two police officers for alleged involvement in supplying arms and ammunition to armed robbers, and the information they provided led to the arrest of Mr. Bot. The customs officer and the two policemen were alleged to have a connection with the disappearance of some ammunition from the police armoury in Minna. The security operatives had earlier arrested Bot’s former orderly, identified only as Shehu. Commenting on the arrest in an interview with Radio France, Hausa service, yesterday, the Comptroller General of Customs Service, Abdullahi Inde Dikko said: “For long we have been working with Ali Kwara, who informed me that they suspected that someone among my officers is aiding armed robbers with weapons. I told him he should fish him out and arrest him, whoever he is. Eventually, they arrested a junior officer, one Shehu, who is an orderly to a comptroller, Jack, from Plateau State. When Ali Kwara arrested Shehu, he (Shehu) told him that Jack is his boss and they have been doing this together since 2002, and they even supplied weapons to Jos during crises. I thank God that out of 20,000 people I am heading only two people were accused of such crime.” Earlier, the spokesman of the Nigerian Customs Service Wale Adeniyi had confirmed Bot’s arrest in a text message to our reporter’s enquiry. “I can confirm SSS arrest of a comptroller. Investigation is in full swing; will keep you posted,” the text message read. Sources told Daily Trust in the course of investigating the story that two police inspectors were arrested and transferred to Force Headquarters last week. The source said the arrest of some armed robbery suspects led to the arrest of a customs officer and two police inspectors over weapons and munitions supply to the alleged robbers. The source said the customs officer confessed to investigators that he got his supply of arms and ammunition from two police officers in Niger State. The Niger State commissioner of police Mrs. Desire D. Nsirim confirmed to Daily Trust on phone that two policemen have been arrested and taken to Force Headquarters in Abuja. “A customs officer and two policemen were taken to Force Headquarters, Abuja for investigation on a miss-deed,” she said but refused to elaborate.

Nothern Christian Militants,AKHWAT AKWOP Give Seven Days Ultimatum to FULANIS

A militant Christian sect that first emerged last year in Christian-dominated Southern Kaduna again, threatened to chase out Fulani herdsmen if they do not leave the area in the next seven days. The group, known as AKHWAT AKWOP, said in an email to SaharaReporters through their spokesman, Bukarma Leguma, that it has “watched with disgust the unrelenting murders and killing of peaceful, innocent, and hardworking people by wandering bands of Fulani terrorist gunmen operating in southern Kaduna,” and urged the herdsmen to leave the area. “AKHWAT AKWOP is also aware that the ultimate aim of the Fulani terrorist is to create a situation of insecurity in southern Kaduna whereby our people will not be able to utilize this farming season thereby leading to hunger, deprivation and famine in the land,” the statement said. It warned that after the seven days of grace, which expires on June 10, AKHWAT AKWOP will declare “open season” on any Fulani found within their lands. Iran-Made Medicine Yields Positive Results in Curing AIDS Patients in Mali

TEHRAN (FNA)- A senior official of Iran's Red Crescent Society announced that HIV-infected patients in Mali have shown positive reactions to the Iran-made AIDS curing drug, Imod, in the course of their treatment. "We have been witnessing highly positive results of Iran-made Imod drug on AIDS patients in Mali during the last two years," Deputy of RCS for Health, Treatment and Rehabilitation Abdolreza Shahrezayee told FNA. He underlined Iran's extended health and treatment services in Mali, and said HIV-positive patients are being cured by Imod in RCS's polyclinic. Iranian scientists in 2007 found a safe and effective cure for the dreaded virus, AIDS. This medicine made up of herbal and chemical components works to build immunity and enhance the quality of life of both AIDS and HIV-positive patients with no proven side effects. Iran, which has taken wide strides in science and technology, particularly in medical and medicinal fields, in recent years, is helping Mali control and contain HIV infection across the African nation.

POLICE (BOKO HARAM) Kill Our People.

. Police killed my people – Leader . Boko Haram killed your people – Police There is apparent confusion in Potiskum, the economic nerve centre of Yobe State following another round of killings at the residence of Malam Mustapha Lawan, the representative of Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, the national leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN). Mustapha is also the leader of the Movement in Potiskum and he told Sunday Trust how enraged he was over what transpired on Sunday, 26th May, 2012 shortly after Maghrib (sunset) prayers in front of his residence at Tsohuwar Tasha in Potiskum. The cleric said he was fully convinced that the assailants that descended on his house around 7.30pm on that fateful day are security operatives. He went ahead and pointed accusing fingers at the police, whom he claimed are vent on “annihilating him and his members.” Malam Mustapha alleged that the police wanted to eliminate him and his followers because of the sacrifice they are making in creating awareness among the Muslim community in Potiskum, whom he said are “under siege by excesses of security agencies.” According to him, “It really beats my imagination when top ranks of the police summoned the audacity and went public denying that their men attacked us when there are ample pointers that buttress their culpability,” the cleric said, noting that he was ready to prove his argument anywhere. He added that he has incontrovertible evidences to prove that the police killed three members of his group and injured five others. But the police in Yobe State fired back at the cleric and stressed that Malam Mustapha was just trying to cause confusion. Police commissioner Moses Onirepi said there was no way his men could kill people without any provocation, stressing that his men did not carry out the attack. “The Shiite (Islamic Movement) group should sort out their grievances with Boko Haram members because we learnt that they (El-Zakzaky’s followers) were preaching against their (Boko Haram) killings,” the commissioner said. “The fact is that the Shiites are only trying to cause confusion, they should leave Police alone,” he added. Our correspondents report that shortly after the attack on Sunday, there were many claims that the police carried out the attack. “The facts are there”, Yusuf Ali, a resident of Potiskum, whose house is not far from the scene of the attack remarked. “A curfew has been fixed in Potiskum whereby except security men, no individual or vehicle is allowed to move between 6pm and 6am of the next day. It is therefore appalling that any other group could drive in a convoy of cars and go and launch attack and then go away without any resistance, I bet you something must be wrong,” he said. Yusuf added that there were so many roadblocks in Potiskum and that it will be difficult for any assailant to use vehicle and then have his way. “In fact, it will be difficult to see somebody malingering around 5.30pm, not to talk of 7.30pm when many people have forced themselves to sleep,” he added. Fielding question on the evidences which the Islamic Movement said it has in its custody, the commissioner argued that, “If they have any evidence of that kind, then they should report it to the appropriate authorities or file a legal action. “They should do the right thing rather than making inciting comments and uncomplimentary remarks,” he said. The commissioner said that the last time the JTF raided a black spot in Potiskum was a day to the attack at the cleric’s residence. “The place we raided was Shago Tara, behind FCE Guest House which is opposite to where the Shiites group was attacked, so they should leave Police alone,” the commissioner insisted. Narrating his ordeal to Sunday Trust, the Islamic Movement leader in Potiskum said the attackers laid siege after he and his members had completed the Maghrib (Sunset) prayers and were waiting for the time of the last prayer of the day (Isha’i) “It is a usual practice that we utilize the little time we have between the two prayers and engage in prayers, learning of the Qur’an and jurisprudence,” he said. It was gathered that the frontage of the house of the clerics also serves as the mosque as well as a learning centre of the movement which has a large followership in Potiskum and environs. He said it was while he was seated together with about ten of his members that they began to hear thunderous sounds of gunshots. “As Allah pleases, we were not scared or rattled and we consoled ourselves not to flee because we don’t know what will happen if we attempt to move from the scene,” he said. It was after the shooting temporarily subsided that we decided to move into the outer room that is attached to my house,” he said. He said that when the shooting continued unabated and one of his people was killed before he got into the room. “About five of us succeeded in getting into the room and locked the door but the police targeted their rifles and fired countless gunshots…the bullet hit two of my people again,” the cleric said, describing the incident as “barbaric reprehensible and condemnable.” “Honestly speaking, the police are not helping matters; in fact they have made life unbearable to us because of their excesses. We don’t want the police, we don’t want the soldiers, in fact we don’t want the JTF here,” he said. “What we have at our disposal is enough evidence to prove to the world that the attackers were men of the Nigeria police in plain clothes,” he said. “We recovered bullets, magazines, and a rifle painted in police colours, belonging to the mobile police. Please what other evidence can we produce?” he asked, rather rhetorically. I still want to repeat! The extra judicial behaviour of the joint task force is reprehensible, unlawful and condemnable in its totality. The military action is an affront on our fundamental human right of worship and peaceful assembly,” he said. He expressed disgust that the very security men sent to ensure law and order in Potiskum are the same people that have turned their guns against the civilian population they are detailed to protect. “We now know that the federal government has sent military and police to kill our people; and no going back; we are going to defend ourselves and take any necessary action on the recent attack by JTF and killing of our members as soon as we conclude our investigation,” he said. “It is the wish of Allah that I am talking to you now, otherwise I would have been dead,” he said, adding that his colleagues had attempted to resist the onslaught. “One of us summoned courage and captured one of the assailants but when the others realized that one of them was at hand, they shot him dead and left,” the cleric said. “And as they were about to flee, they remarked that they have succeeded in shutting off our mouths,” he said. “But nobody can shut my mouth, provided I am alive and hale and hearty. Wallahi nobody can threaten me to keep quite from preaching what Allah said we should preach. I know we are into an expensive and risky venture but so be it. I know I could be killed but I have the strongest conviction on what we are doing. Allah is our surety,” he said. A source said the attackers arrived in four vehicles and opened fire at the worshippers and when they left, the injured were rushed to hospital for medical attention. Corroborating, Mallam Mustapha said the attackers once again ambushed the vehicles heading to the hospital and opened fire again. “By all indications, we were attacked by the people assigned to protect us but we would never relent, no going back,” he said. He gave the names of those that were killed as Abdullahi Zakar (33); Zakari Ali (43) and Mukhtar Lawan (42). Those that sustained serious gunshots include: Musa Lawan, Murtala Ashafa (a young Almajiri, Tsangaya School pupil); Hashimu Abdullahi, Abu Tallib Mohammad and Lawan Muhammad. “All the injured escaped death by the whiskers because one of them sustained 11 gunshots in his body. We are really grateful to Allah,” he said. He recalled that more than 100 gunshots were fired into the room he and few of his members entered. “Alhamdu Lillah, as you can see, we are alive because our lives are in the hands of God. We pray that He will grant Aljannatul Firdaus to our colleagues that died,” he said. Sunday Trust gathered that one of the deceased, Mukhtar Lawan was a younger brother of the cleric. “All the deceased were buried the next day amidst emotions and sympathy. They were brutally killed but Allah knows the best,” Salisu Abubakar, a sympathizer from Gombe State said. It would be recalled that the JTF in Potiskum came under severe criticism about four weeks ago following an attack at a cattle market, the largest in the northeast part of Nigeria which led to the killing of over 100 people. The Senator representing Yobe South, Senator Alkali Jajere had shortly after the attack at the market blamed the JTF of insensitivity. “We really have so many questions that are yet to be answered. The market was surrounded by military and police men, their duty posts are all over, it is difficult for me to believe that such a killing will happen without any resistance,” Jajere said. He also accused the federal government over its insensitivity to the plight of the people of the North and even called for the resignation of President Goodluck Jonathan. “The most painful part is that apart from prominent people that are directly related with the victims of all this incidents, nobody from the federal government cares to come and sympathize with us, this is really a big mess,” Jajere said. One Million People to Flee Israel in Case of Iran's Reprisal for Israeli Attack

The Iranian Supreme Leader's top military aide dismissed the possibility of a US or Israeli military move against Iran as "weak", and stressed that Iran's crushing reprisal for an Israeli attack will force one million Israelis to flee in the first one or two weeks of the conflict. Speaking on Friday, Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi said that coalition parties in the Israeli cabinet will leave the cabinet if Israel tries to wage a military move against Iran. He described Israel's Jewish community as "vulnerable", and noted, "The Zionists are living in such international conditions that if they intend to launch an attack against Iran, one million Jews will flee Israel in the first one or two weeks. Jews are very vulnerable there." He dismissed the possibility of a US and Israeli strike against Iran, and stated, "…the internal political conditions of the Zionist regime (of Israel) and the US as well as their economic and military conditions do not allow them to start a new war in the region." In relevant remarks this week, another top advisor of Iran's Supreme Leader also challenged the Zionist regime's intensified war rhetoric against Tehran, saying that the arch-foe of the Islamic Republic does not dare to stage a military attack against Iran. The comments were made by Supreme Leader's Advisor for International Affairs Ali Akbar Velayati in a meeting with a group of Egyptian journalists here in Tehran on Wednesday. Asked about Israel's growing saber-rattling and threat of military attack against Iran, Velayati said, "The Zionist regime has neither the power nor the courage and venture to do so for it knows that if it embarks on doing such a thing, it won't exist any more." Iranian officials and commanders have warned that any enemy move, even the slightest aggressions, against the Islamic Republic would be reciprocated with a destructive response and will endanger enemies' interests all around the world. Late in May, Lieutenant Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) boasted Iran's missile power, saying all enemy bases in the region are within the reach of Iranian missiles. "Today, there is no base in the region lying outside the reach of the Iranian missiles," Brigadier General Hossein Salami said at the time. In March, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei stressed Tehran's military preparedness to give a crushing response to any possible aggression against the country. "We do not possess a nuclear weapon and we will not build one, but we will defend ourselves against any aggression, whether by the US or the Zionist regime, with the same level (of force)," Ayatollah Khamenei said, addressing thousands of Iranian people in the holy city of Mashhad, the provincial capital city of Iran's Northeastern province of Khorassan Razavi. The Leader said Washington and its allies are well aware that Iran is neither in possession nor in pursuit of nuclear weapons and the real reason behind their enmity against Iran is their thirst for the nation's oil.

Nigeria Security Forces Disguise As Boko Haram Militants In Potiskum, Kills 3 Shi'ite Muslim, Colleague.

Heavily armed Nigeria security men in plain clothes, apparently disguised as Boko Haram Militants, yesterday invaded Markaz, resident of Malam Mustapha Lawan,a disciple of Sheikh Zakzaky in Potiskum, Yobe State. The assailants, opened fire on members of the Islamic Movement during Maghrib prayers and killed 3 brothers and one of their own. One of the worshippers in a show of bravery captured one of the gunmen, but was shot together with the gunman he captured. The disguised mobile police/army men took away the corpse of their colleague and took to their heels. It was apparent that, the target of the attack was Malam Mustapha Lawan, who had been critical of the police and soldiers for the daily killing of innocent people in the state and across the country under the pretext of the so-called Boko Haram. Bullets and cartridges, bearing police inscription, and cellular phone that fell off the hands of the assailants were recovered when they took to their heels. Responding to the attack and discovery of police bullets and cartridges at the scene of the attack, on BBC Hausa Service, police commissioner in the state Mr
Moses said he was aware of security operation night of the attack but the Police had killed not anyone. Malam Mustapha Lawan in also in a BBC interview confirmed the incident was the handiwork of Nigerian security intent to crush the influence of Islamic Movement in Nigeria. He said, he was the primary target of the gunmen, but Allah saved him. Malam Mustapha Lawan also confirmed the possession of exhibits bearing police colours and inscriptions, which they left behind while trying to run away in fear.

Jonathan, Etete, Shell in fresh N155billion scandal

The Federal Government is enmeshed in court cases in the U.S. and UK over a curious $1.1bn (about N155 billion) payment made to a company belonging to former oil minister, Dan Etete Four years after he was convicted of money laundering in France, Dan Etete, a former Petroleum Minister, through his company Malabu Oil, has become a billion dollars richer, courtesy of the Nigerian Government and Shell. According to documents (filed March 22, 2012) before the Supreme Court of the State of New York in the US, President Goodluck Jonathan discreetly approved the transfer of the sum of $1.1bn to Mr. Etete on April 29, 2011, two weeks after he was re-elected. The money was first paid to the Federal Government by two multinational oil companies: Nigeria Agip Exploration Limited (Agip) and Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (Shell) in respect of oil block OPL 245. But shortly after the funds were credited to the Federal Government's account, Mr. Jonathan ordered that it should be secretly transferred to a London account of Mr. Etete's company, Malabu Oil. It is not clear what deal Mr. Jonathan struck with Malabu, and on what basis the payment was made. President Jonathan's spokesperson, Reuben Abati did not answer or return calls seeking his comment for this story. He also did not respond to a text message sent to him for the same purpose. The government made the payment to Mr. Etete’s company even when it had repeatedly insisted that the award of the oil block to Malabu was done in violation of laid down procedures. Shell insisted it had no knowledge that the government passed the funds to Mr. Etete's company. OPL 245: History While serving as Petroleum Minister under late Head of State, Sani Abacha, Mr. Etete awarded his own company, Malabu, an oil block, OPL 245 in 1998. The allocation was however reversed by the Federal Government under President Olusegun Obasanjo in 2001 when the FG described the allocation process as dubious. The block was allocated to Shell in 2002. Following the revocation, a prolonged legal battle ensued with Malabu taking the Federal Government to court. In 2006, the Federal Government reversed itself and re-allocated the oil block to Malabu. This angered Shell which then filed arbitration proceedings in Washington. Following the protracted legal battles, an agreement was reached between all parties. The agreement In an agreement titled “Block 245, Malabu resolution agreement” dated April 29, 2011 between Malabu and the Federal Government, the FG agreed to pay Malabu $1,092,040,000 in “full and final settlement of all its claims, interests or rights relating to OPL245.” The agreement also stated that the rights to the oil block would be reallocated to Agip and Shell. In a separate agreement between Shell and Nigeria, titled “Block 245 resolution agreement,” the two multinationals (Agip and Shell) agreed to Pay the same sum “for the purposes of FGN settling all and any existing claims and/or issues over Block 245…” In other words, the multinational oil firms agreed to pay $1.1bn to the FGN with the knowledge that the money would be used to settle any existing claims that existed by any other party to the oil block. We didn’t pay to Etete Despite knowing that the money was to be paid as settlement to a third party and knowing that Malabu was the only company with bragging rights over the oil block, Shell claims it did not know the money was to be paid to Mr. Etete’s Malabu. “Shell was not aware that that money was to be paid to Malabu,” said Precious Okolobo, a communications officer with the oil company in a telephone interview. Mr. Okolobo confirmed in a follow-up email that the “the Federal Government of Nigeria has allocated the deepwater offshore block OPL 245 jointly to Nigeria Agip Exploration (NAE) and Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCo),” and that “each now holds 50 percent in OPL 245, with NAE as operator of the block.” “Any payments relating to the issuance of the license were made only to the Federal Government of Nigeria,” the Shell official said saying “in line with Shell's information policy, we cannot reveal commercially sensitive information, and hence cannot comment further on the papers filed in the New York court proceedings.” The American court case Mr. Etete ‘s company is being sued in the United States for alleged refusal to honour an agreement with ILC, a company registered in the British Virgin Islands. The company claims it helped negotiate the agreement Malabu had with the FG and was thus entitled to payment under “an engagement letter and fee agreement” it signed with Malabu on January 19, 2010. “ILC contends that it fully performed its obligations under the fee agreement entitling it to a 6 per cent success fee amounting to $65,522,400 and that Malabu has indicated that it will not pay this amount,” the company told the court. Another company allegedly owed by Malabu over OPL 245 had also sued the company in the UK which led to a court freeze of some accounts linked to the company and also to Nigeria. The Federal Government, through the Attorney General of the Federation, Mohammed Adoke had objected to the freezing of its account in a letter dated July 16, 2011 to the court saying “the FGN does not submit to the jurisdiction of the English courts and that this letter is sent only to claim immunity. A history of corruption Mr. Etete, who served as minister between 1995 and 1998, was convicted of money laundering in France in 2007. He was sentenced to three years in prison and given a fined $300,000. He was also asked to pay $150,000 to the Nigerian Government. The former Minister appealed the ruling. In March 2009 however, a French appeal court confirmed the money laundering charges against Mr. Etete, and fined him $10.5 million after conviction. Apart from money laundering and his controversial roles in oil block dealings, Mr. Etete is also believed to be a major beneficiary of the Halliburton bribe where $180 million dollars was paid as bribe to senior government officials by a consortium including a subsidiary of an American company, Halliburton. Mr. Etete was an ally and business associate of Jeffery Tesler, the British middleman who coordinated the bribe scheme and who was recently convicted in the United States for his role in the bribe payment. Neither Mr. Etete nor any other Nigerian has been convicted for the collection of the bribes; though the companies that made the payment and the middlemen have all been convicted or indicted in the United States and other host countries.
